Cocktails on the weekend with friends are a great way to end a long week of work. Cocktails have gone through a lot of trends, currently the latest trend of premixed cocktails. They are easy to make and save you a ton of time; open the bottle and pour away. But some classic cocktails will never go out of style and are all-time favourites worldwide.
Here is a list of some classic cocktails you will find in every part of the world, and every bartender knows how to make them. Even if the bartender does not know the recipe, you can always buy premixed cocktails.
Bourbon Old Fashioned
Bourbon old-fashioned, a staple drink for many, has been around for 200 years and still manages to stay relevant. The drink is probably simpler to make than a cup of tea. A tad bit more than a simple whiskey drink in a glass. The old fashion hits all the right spots – a little whiskey, sugar, water, and some bitters.
Manhattan
A classic cocktail that drinkers have been ordering in bars for more than a century now. Invented in New York City’s Manhattan Club, this mix of bourbon, sweet vermouth, and bitters garnished with brandied cherries is the most classic drink of them all. Manhattan tastes pretty much the same since the elites of 19th century New york tipped their lips to it. However, like a modern twist to the cocktail, a lemon twist is drinkers’ choice instead of brandied cherries.
Long Island Iced Tea
A couple of these cocktails can make a person forget their way back home. For the nights when you want to party till you drop, a LIIT is the best choice. An unseemingly beautiful blend of four different liquors and spirits blended with lemon and cola gets the job done like no other cocktail in the bar.
Margarita
The classic margarita combines the tanginess of the lime, the sweetness of orange liqueur, and the punch of white tequila hits the right chords. To this day, the origin of this drink is unknown. Some say it is a twist of Spanish cocktail daisy, while others believe it started in Mexico. Moreover, in some recipes, the orange liqueur is optional while mandatory in others.
Bloody Mary
A cocktail that is acceptable to drink in the mornings with breakfast on vacation has a place in a drinker’s heart like no other. While the modern version of the drink tends to be heavily garnished to make up for the spicy flavour, the traditionalists often prefer it with little or no garnish. With tomato juice, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and Tabasco, all topped with vodka, a bloody mary sure packs up some nutritional value and is considered the best drink to cure hangovers.
Dirty Martini
Originated in 1901 in New York City, The Martini is a cocktail almost everyone has had. This cocktail can be either made with gin or vodka. While vodka is what you will get if you order one now, gin remains the classic choice of many.
These drinks are the holy grail of cocktails and a go-to choice of drinkers worldwide. Some of these cocktails may be a lot of work for beginners, so premixed cocktails are a boon. There is no need to buy the tools or carefully measure the ratios, pour the premixed cocktail, and relax.
