How to use a tactical flashlight
Spread the love

Having a tactical flashlight anywhere in darkness can be a life-saver tool. Some people might think a tactical flashlight is a thing that is only for military uses. But, the fact is different. This tactical flashlight can be used for different purposes when you are in danger or any awkward situation. To get the advantages of having a tactical flashlight, only purchase a brightest tactical flashlight is not enough. You must know how to use the flashlight effectively. Then you will get the ultimate result from this tool. There are so many ways of holding a tactical flashlight. We are describing some of them to people who want to know about it.

How to use a Tactical Flashlight

# Chapman Technique: Chapman Technique is a method of holding a tactical flashlight in the old FBI style. This is totally different from the current FBI style of holding a tactical knife while using a gun. According to this method, you should hold the flashlight as if you are holding a sword. Just hold the flashlight with a tight hand and keep the rests next to your gun. This method is named according to the famous sportsman  Chapman, who was the champion in International Practical Shooting Confederation. The reason is that Chapman first felt the necessity of a tactical flashlight along with your gun.

# Harries Technique: Harries technique is one of the most popular techniques among others. This technique allows the shooter to keep both of their hands together in a cross position and to hold a gun and tactical flashlight in the shooter’s two-hands. In this position, the shooter will get the chance to aim at the target more accurately. This technique is named by the famous shooter Michael Harries who first introduced this technique. This technique is a mostly-used technique, especially by policemen. The reason people believe in adopting this technique is the chances of aiming at the target and focusing on the target at the same time.

# Ayoob Technique: Ayoob Technique is quite the same as the Chapman Technique. In this technique, you have to hold the flashlight along with the gun in a parallel position. In such a way, you may focus on the target quickly. But, you may not have a good balance as you have to use your hand separately for using the two. There is another drawback to this technique. If you want to hold the flashlight tightly, you have to hold its body. So, the flashlight having the switch on its front part is suitable for this technique. But, the modern tactical flashlights have their switch on the back part. This kind of tactical flashlight is almost impossible to use in this method.

# Neck Index: This technique is considered the most effective method of using a tactical flashlight. In this method, you have to hold the flashlight near to your cheekbone rather than your gun. The advantage of the neck index method is that you will be able to focus on the spot where your eyes are. This holding method gives more stability and balances to hold the flashlight. But, you have to know that your enemy will target the direction of the light. So, if you are holding the tactical flashlight close to your head and your enemies fire towards the light, you must know the consequences.

# FBI technique: FBI technique is the most effective method, we guess. This is the same as the neck index method. There is just a little difference between them. According to his method, you should hold the gun in your one hand and the flashlight with the other. The difference is that you have to hold the flashlight far from your body’s major organs. If the enemy aims at the light and shoots, you won’t get hurt much. This is the safest way of holding the tactical flashlight.

Conclusion | How to use a tactical flashlight

All the techniques of holding a tactical flashlight are full of different nature. You can adopt any of them that is most convenient and useful to you. Only purchasing the best tactical flashlight from the market can’t make your performance improved. You have to learn to hold it in the most effective way.
